食性:雜食性
棲息於大陸棚砂泥底質海域以及礁石區。產卵期為12-3月，卵為分離浮性卵。通常為群居性，會隨著季節改變而成群洄游，變換其棲所，為澎湖箱網養殖之主力魚種。
Occurs from 10 to 50 m depths, habitats including rough grounds, soft bottoms and reefs. Breeding seasons are during December to next March ; juveniles occur mainly in the shallower areas.
